Q. What is Entertainment Zone about or intended for?
The Entertainment Zone is an information, review and social network website with multitudes of applications where you can join to provide information, review or interact with friends, form or join groups or forums related to entertain topics and issues. Of course you also get to enjoy free blog posting, text and video chatting, post events, wikis, products and many other services. It is aimed at providing an online entertainment zone where we all contribute to the entertainment we want or as we know it, and help create understanding or appreciation for our friends and other people online.
Q How to I sign up/register?
You click on the register tab at the top left part of the website, and you fill in you details. You well get an email with a link to click to activate your account. Once you activate, you can start utilizing any of the website’s services and platform (posting on your wall, groups, forums, chats, etc
How do I set up my account the way I want?
Once you are signed in, you can change your setting and customize your account at the “My account” button on the top left corner. Just point a curser there and you will see several options for you to customize your account.
I see many options, can you explain them to me?
Yes. On that top most bar, you can “My Account”, “Dashboard”, “Notifications”, and “Chat”. The account shows most options for your interactions, the dashboard if where you publish posts (blog), notifications show you any new notifications since you last visited while the chat is where you go to chat online.
Under the My Account, you see
My Home: This is you main page on this website and here you will find change your account setting and you widgets (those you want to display on your home page) since we have designed the site in such a way that each member can decide what they want to appear on their home page.
Activity: Here you can see your wall where every interaction you make on this network is recorded. You can view your personal activities, those of your friends, group members, and your favourites, plus your mentions (who has mentioned you anywhere on this website).
Profile: Here you view and edit your profile. It includes your details you provided on registration and it shows what other friends or users will see as your public profile. You can always edit it the way you want. Here you can also change your profile picture (avatar).
Messages: Under messages, you will your complete message suite, including messages in your inbox, messages you have sent, any notices, and it is here where you can compose a message to any of your friends, group members or users on this site.
Friends: Here you can see your current friends and friend requests (people who have requested you to be their friend).
Groups: Under groups you find your groups, group invites, and events you are invited to or those you have created and you can always edit them.
Events: One of the most powerful applications we are offering is for you to be able to post your events, receive bookings, receive payments if you want. Here you can see your profile, your events, events you have been invited to, events you are attending (have confirmed), books for your events, locations for your events – all the groupings and customizations you need to manage and benefit from events.
Send Invites: You can invite new members to the site so that you promote you social and beneficial interactions. There is an inbuilt system to help you source your contacts from several email providers.
Album: This contains your pictures/ albums and it is here where you can post pictures and or create albums to share with your friends or loved ones.
Posts: here you find you posts (blog posts), remember we have given an unlimited chance for every member to have their own blog post. So go ahead and express yourself on whatever you want, and here under posts, you can always keep track of your posts. To post, go to your “Dashboard’ up and click create new post. The instruction on how to configure your posts are offered later below.
Gifts: Here you see the virtual gifts you have received. Remember, at this network, you can send your friends or loved ones virtual gifts to express your feelings. You can even upload other virtual gifts.
Privacy: It is here where you can change your privacy setting. You can decide who sees your posts, messages or what friends are able to see about you or your activities on the website.
Chat: If you need to chat with your friends, just click here, then full chat and you get a chat box with lots of options and emotions for you to express yourself best. You can chat with individuals or groups.
Settings: Click here to change your general settings and configure your account the way you want.
Fronted Admin: Here you can control your groups, wikis and members of the groups and wikis
Logout: You can log out from here, or just right below your profile image (avatar).
On the “Dashboard”, you will see
New Post: Click here to make a new post (blog post). It will take you to the Wordopress post editor where you can write or paste your post. You don’t know how to post? Search for a wordpress posting tutorial, or simply hover a cursor over the different tabs and each will tell you its purpose…i.e. tabs for putting in photos, videos, audio, quotes etc. It should be clear where to put the headline and the body (text of your post). You can select a category on the right drop down menu where you want your post to appear, and them click publish. This publish button changes into “update” which you have to click when you make any changes. Contact us if you need further help.
Mange posts: here you can edit, delete posts, or publish your drafts
Manage comments: You can edit, approve or delete comments
Q. Do I have to sign up to use this website?
A. If you want to get friends, post in forums and groups, start groups and forums, engage in group chats or undertake video conferencing and live streaming services provided on the website, you have to be a signed up member. But reading or watching what is published on the website is free for all.
How do I find friends?
You can click on members (on the main navigation bar )n and you will see the list of members registered. You can request the one you want to be a friend. You can also search for friends in the search box provided. You can even search for members from a particular location or category.
How do I create and manage groups?
Remember any member can create a group. Whoever creates a group is the chief admin or moderator of that group. You can however give some moderator duties to other members of the group.
To create or join a group, click on the “Group” tab on the main bar, and there is a button just below the main navigation bar “Create a group”. Follow the instructions and you can change your group settings as you want. You are 100% in charge of your group.
To join a group, go to Groups, and the groups will be displayed. Click join on the group that you want to join. You can start or join as many groups as you want, but please keep them relevant i.e. you should be able to interact in all the groups. You can also search for groups and forums in the search box.
How do I join or mange a forum?
Any member can start a forum, or contribute to existing forum. Whoever starts a forum is the manager of that forum. Forums are like topics of discussion…feel free to start any at any time.
To start a forum, click on forums on the main navigation bar, then just below, click on New topic…follow the simple instructions and start the discussion. Be clear and precise on what you ware saying so that other members comment on what they can understand.
How do I post an event?
Go to events on the main navigation bar or look for events in the sidebars, or in your “My account” and go to events. You will see a button to view current events, book events, post etc. For accurate posting of an event, you need to go to your dashboard, check that left Column functions for the section of Events, and click Create New. The rest should be easy.
Can I start wiki?
Yes. Anyone can start a wiki. Whoever starts the wiki has the powers to moderate it and ensure to delivers relevant knowledge and information contributed by the members you approve or assign any duties. To start a wiki, click your dashboard, check the left column functions for section Wiki, click Add New, and you are ready to go.
How do I post a video review?
Any member can post a video review. While signed in, click post video, and input the easy details. To manage your videos, You click edit your video and hover the cursor over any video and select the option you want.
OR Go to your “Dashboard”, on the left there are several tabs, go to Video section, click on “Add Video”. Put the title of the video you want to review and your review (content) in the content box), then go to youtube and pick the url of the video you are reviewing and put it as the value in the custom field of video. On the right, select the category or categories where you want your video to appear and then hit “publish”. If you know what you are doing and want to add tags, please do so.
